Bayou War’s 2010 Guest of Honor is Ed Teixeira, owner of Two Hour Wargames and master of the Chain Reaction method. He first introduced the concept in Warrior Kings, 1998 (under Breakthrough Games). The ground-breaking Chain Reaction/ Guns and Girls appeared in 2002. From there it has grown to include All Things Zombie, Origins award winner for miniature game of the year, 2005.

And he hasn’t let any grass grow under his feet since then, covering WWII, Vietnam, colonials, fantasy, science fiction, Wild West, Victorian science fiction, sports, and pulp in over 24 publications.

The innovative Chain Reaction system introduces fog of war into miniatures games without hidden movement or bookkeeping. Turns are replaced by Activations which in turn set off reactions by the enemy. The system rewards good tactics and punishes bad ones. And suppression is built in, needing no special rules.

One of the outstanding features of the game system is the adaptability to conflicts not already covered in Two Hour Wargame’s publications.

The system is supported by the 3000+ member Two Hour Wargames Yahoo Group, of which Ed is a very active member, answering questions very quickly. He is quite receptive to gamer suggestions, and many ideas introduced on the group influence future rulesets.
